Forcing a system crash from the keyboard

Configure memory dump
- Control Panel > System > Advanced system settings > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery > Settings... > System failure box
- Must have enough free space on C:\ to hold a .DMP file equal to the amount of system RAM





Enable crash from USB and PS/2 keyboards
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\kbdhid\Parameters]
"CrashOnCtrlScroll"=dword:00000001

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\i8042prt\Parameters]
"CrashOnCtrlScroll"=dword:00000001




To force a system crash
- While holding down right CTRL, press Scroll Lock twice




Notes
- *Does* work using HP Integrated Lights Out console
